Danna Fowble, CCM, IOM

Danna Fowble joined The State Chamber in April 2000 as the director of its Federation and Grassroots Development Department and was promoted to the department’s vice president in 2003. 

In this role, she serves as the chief executive officer of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives (OCCE) and the Oklahoma Professional Economic Development Council (OEDC), where she works to develop and promote a comprehensive program of legislative advocacy and awareness. She also is responsible for maintaining the State Chamber’s accreditation with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and working with local chambers to initiate legislative advocacy committees.

Danna came to the State Chamber from the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she served as its first executive director, which was established in 1993 taking the organization’s budget from $107,000 to over $380,000 upon leaving in 2000.  She is a Tulsa native and previously held the position of Convention Sales Manager for the Tulsa Chamber’s Convention and Visitors division.

Danna is a past president of the Oklahoma Society of Association Executives (OSAE) and was the first convention and visitor’s bureau representative to hold that position. She also received their 2007 Professional of the Year award and was nominated for Journal Record’s 2007 Woman of the Year.  She also serves on the board of the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association and was Gov. Frank Keating’s appointed in 1995 to the first ever White House Conference on Travel and Tourism in Washington, D.C. 

Danna has a bachelor’s degree in business (emphasis on Meetings and Destination Management) from Northeastern State University (NSU) in Tahlequah, Okla., and is a graduate of the Institutes for Organization Management (IOM) program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  Danna earned the distinction of Certified Chamber Manager shortly after she joined The State Chamber and is currently studying to sit for the Certified Association Executive (CAE) exam in 2009.  She is also a certified fitness professional through the National YMCA and instructs five fitness classes per week.
