President
Longview Partnership
Kelly R Hall, IOM, is president for the Longview Partnership which is comprised of the Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Downtown Development and Keep Longview Beautiful. Hall became president in April 2005.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees in marketing from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1984, Hall joined the chamber profession in 1986 as chamber manager in a community of 2,000 people. Within two years she was asked to be the executive director of the Claremore, OK chamber. In 1991, Hall relocated to Greenville TX to become president of their chamber.
While serving as president of the Greenville Chamber, Hall developed and implemented innovative education/workforce development initiatives which were recognized by the National School to Career Association. Hall was a presenter at their National conference each June from 1999-2003. She also did programs for the US Department of Labor in 1996 and 1997. During her time in Greenville the Chamber was recognized by the International Association of Personnel Society and Personnel in Employment Society for their youth initiatives. Hall was also recognized as a Community Builder by Drug Free Greenville and in 2004 she received the Key Communicator award from the Greenville Independent School District.
In summer of 1996 Greenville was devastated by two church burnings. Because of a community emergency response plan the Chamber developed in 1994 following the bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City the Chamber implemented 24 hour phone banks to respond to media and citizen questions from across the world. In the spring of 1994 the Chamber had received their designation from the IRS to create their Foundation. As a result the Chamber Foundation raised approximately 1.5 million dollars and through the support of Promise Keepers both churches were rebuilt.
During that emotional summer Hall’s family was threatened as was the Chamber infrastructure. The “Heat of the Night” gave new meaning to the community as they dealt with KKK and Black Panther marches. Security had to be placed on the Chamber roof top to ensure the safety of volunteers and employees. In 1997 upon completion of rebuilding and celebrating the openings of the churches Hall was asked to share their story along with the ministers of both African American churches on CBS talk shows in New York.
Additional achievements while at the Greenville Chamber include the re-certification of their Main Street Program, redevelopment of Leadership Greenville, the creation of an award winning Governmental Affairs program and award winning festivals. Hall’s achievements and passion in the festivals and events industry earned her the Carson Watt Professional of the Year Award in 2005 from the Texas Festivals & Events Association.
In February of 2005 Kelly received a surprise phone call from the chairman of the search committee for the Longview Partnership asking her to consider interviewing with them. On April 18, 2005 Kelly began as president of the Partnership.
Hall has served on the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executive Board (twice), Texas Association of Business Board, and the Texas Festival Events Association Board of Directors. Currently, she serves Center for Chamber Excellence Regional Board of Directors (AR, OK, LA, TX) and Leadership Texas Committee of the Board as the East Texas Regional Director.
Born in Bell Ville, IL and relocating to Oklahoma at the age of two she considers herself an Okie at heart. Hall enjoys playing piano and flute, snorkeling, golf, gardening, and genealogy. Hall is a member of Habitat for Humanity Women’s Steering Committee, Executive Board for Junior Achievement, and ZONTA International.
