Chamber Overview and Management Issues
This session is designed to provide the participant an overview of the foundation for a successful organization, including the legal and financial responsibilities of an organization’s executive and staff as well as the history and changing dynamics of chambers of commerce.
Membership Development
The foundation for a successful chamber of commerce is a sound financial base. This session is designed to provide insight into successful techniques for membership recruitment and retention and sources of non-dues income.
Public Policy
Many of your investors hire the chamber to represent them as the “voice of business” to the city, county, state, and federal governments. It is an important core competency that requires many skills. This course will give you an introduction to the key elements of successful programs on public policy.
Day Two
Tourism
Many of our communities have wonderful opportunities for tourism and estimation marketing. This discussion will focus on how you can better position your community to attract visitors.
Community Development
The chamber of commerce should play a leadership role in addressing the critical issues facing a community. This course is designed as a basic introduction to the methods used to develop an effective community development program.
Economic Development
Each chamber of commerce should have a role to play in business development. Through this course you will gain a better understanding of how you can be an active player in creating and maintaining job opportunities within your community.
